Fixed term appointment for 2 years, full time
This post, based within the School of Computing and Engineering, will support the management and evaluation of the School's research and impact portfolio, providing assistance to the monitoring and progression of key performance indicators. You will also be responsible for assisting in the collection and preparation of data for internal and external evaluation purposes e.g. for the Research Excellence Framework exercises; in particular, to manage the collection, curation and submission of relevant documentary and/or statistical evidence in support of the impact of research projects.
The Impact Support Officer (ISO) will report to and work with the Research Admin Support Manager as well as developing and realising the School's impact agenda in consultation with the Associate Dean for Research and the Unit of Assessment Co-Ordinators. The ISO will play a key role in working with individual academics/research groups to maximise the impact of the School's research across all disciplines. The ISO will also work with senior staff on the School's preparations for the next REF (Research Excellence Framework), taking particular responsibility for the Impact Case Studies.
With a degree or equivalent, you will ideally have experience of working in a research support environment within higher education, and a good understanding of the wider research policy environment, including the requirements of the Research Excellence Framework and the research impact agenda.
