The School of Applied Sciences at the University of Huddersfield is looking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Synthetic Organic Chemistry. The main focus of the research programme will be small molecule drug discovery with a particular focus upon the synthesis and discovery of anti-parasitic agents, anti-microbial agents, anti-inflammatory agents and new anti-cancer drugs.
You will work in collaboration with pharmacologists, biochemists and microbiologists to identify potential compounds of interest. You will hold a First or Upper second class honours degree in Chemistry/Medicinal Chemistry and have a PhD in Organic Synthesis/Medicinal Chemistry. You will also have experience of the isolation, purification and characterisation of small molecules.

This is an open-ended appointment and is dependent upon the availability of specific funding in this School. In the event of there being no further funding available to support this post you will receive appropriate notification of the termination of your employment in accordance with contractual provisions.
