The School of Human and Health Sciences is looking for a talented academic to lead the Department of Behavioural & Social Sciences. The Department consists of the Divisions of Criminology, Politics and Sociology, as well as the Division of Social Care & Counselling. The Department is home to a developing suite of undergraduate, postgraduate courses and has distinctive strengths in social work, politics and social sciences research.
You will hold a PhD and have a strong national and international reputation in an area of research relevant to the Department and School evidenced by a substantial track record of high quality publications, external grant income and PhD completions. You will have significant experience in a senior role in terms of leading, motivating and managing a range of academic staff, building research capacity and ensuring effective and efficient delivery of a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. As a member of the School Management Team, you will contribute to strategic planning and implementation to achieve key performance indicators within the School and University Strategy.
